CHAMBERSBURG HIGH SCHOOL
CHAMBERSBURG, PENNSYLVANIA
THE ECHO, 1931
Seniors part 2
ANABEL JACKSON "Belle" Commercial
Anabel’s pleasing personality has won the hearts of many. But we have a big job on hand
if we want to keep her. Greenburg is calling! We wonder who!
GARNET ALEXANDER JONES "Casey" Commercial
Spanish Club 3; Commercial Club 4.
This "Casey" doesn’t go to the bat with a determined look on his face, but he does
tackle lessons that way-- and he usually plays a winning game, too.
GLADYS MARGUERITE JONES "Glady" Classical
Dramatic Club 2,3.
Gentlemen, change your minds and choose a brunette! Surely you would do it for this
pair of eyes. Gladys never exerts herself over her lessons, but what’s the use?
JOHN BRUCE KAUFMAN "Bruce" Classical
Bruce, by his dutified actions, seems to be furthering some high hope for the future,
and do you know what that hope is? To be a minister is Bruce’s great ambition, and
the class of "31 will cheer him on his way.
PAUL ERWIN KEEFER "Skeets" Scientific
French Club 4; School Play 2.
You now have the pleasure of looking on one of the brainy members of ‘31. "Skeets"
accomplishes anything he sets out to do. We predict a great future for him.
WALTER KEEFER "Whitie" Scientific
A good pal and a loyal classmate! This seems to fit "Whitie" to a "T". If you don’t
know him, you had better meet him.
MAUDE ELIZABETH KEGERREIS "Keggie" Commercial
Glee Club 1,3; Commercial Club 4; Spanish Club 4.
Maude isn’t one of the people who promises to go to the movies with you and then decides
at the last minute to stay at home. They say a woman has the right to change her mind,
but we prefer a person like Maude, who doesn’t exercise this privilege.
VIOLA ELIZABETH KIMPLE "Vi" Classical
Dramatic Club 3.
Viola is one of the few girls whose doubts and fears concerning lessons are evident in
history and Latin classes. We are all accquainted with her giggle, which will be
greatly missed in C.H.S.
KATHERINE HELEN KING "Kitty" Classical
French Club 4, President 4; Office Squad 4; Echo Staff, Associate Editor; Senior Play;
School Play 3.
She’s never late! But then why should she be, when she simply has to roll out of bed,
take several steps, and be at school. Her recitations also, are always on time, and
since the former reason can’t apply to them, it may be somewhat unjust.
MILDRED GABLER KLENZING "Buster" Commercial
Commercial Club 4; Parrot Staff, Commercial Editor 4.
This storekeeper’s daughter from North Franklin Street is fond of camping and out-of-door
sports. In school we rate her as an expert typist.

Glee Club 3,4; Dramatic Club 3; Parrot Staff 4; Senior Play; School Play 2; Operetta 3,4;

The class of ‘31 boasts of more than one good dancer. There are rumors that Milton got
some of his practice on a certain college floor-- no wonder he is a whiz.
JOHN FULTON MAGILL "Mick" Classical
French Club 4; Band 1.
"Mick" likes nothing better than an all day hike or a week at camp. Living next door to
a girls’ school matters not in the least to him; scouting is the cream of his coffee.

Another lad from Scotland. William is very quiet and seems to move in a path of his
own. It takes a while to know him well, but once you succeed you have a true friend.

most of it.
RUTH LILLIAN MOWER "Rufus" Classical

invented anyway, "Chickie"?
CALVIN SANDERS "Sanders" Classical
Here is one of our famous twins who lives at Marion. When the teachers chance to meet
him, they wonder, "Is he Calvin, or is he John?"
JOHN B. SANDERS Sanders" Classical
The people who do little talking are generally the ones who accomplish things; Therefor,

HELEN ZARGER "Helen" Classical
