Elaine Black Swan has collected old photographs since she was 9 years old. A game of darts was being played by a group of teenage cousins using photos belonging to her great aunt (from the 1880's). She angerly demanded the photo (with dart hole (which she still owns)) and all the rest of the possible targets.

She has collected in Iowa, Utah, and Washington. Utah was the least fertile (only three... people there kept thier history). Most of her Iowa pictures were purchased at farm auctions in and around the Ames Iowa area during the period 1980-1982. Pat's in Burlington WA, 1983, has supplied many genealogists/historians with pictures and hard to get books... cheaply (until recently ...) She has a webpage for found pictures.
